University of California Berkeley is Easy Access for Fremont Residents

Posted in Education, Travel  by admin on November 25th, 2009

Cory grew up in Fremont, California and even went to college at the University of California Berkeley. He lived in San Francisco for a few years after college and then went on to the University of Oregon for his graduate studies. While he was there in Eugene he met a fellow Duck named Ira and fell in love with her. They were in different programs but happened to take the same philosophy class as their electives. They thought it was apropos that the class was elements of space and time and once the two of them met, their world collided and they wondered how that might relate to their class. Shortly after graduation, Cory and Ira were married.

To celebrate both their graduation and marriage Ira’s parents paid for a round trip ticket to Seattle, which was Ira’s hometown. The newlywed graduates had a great time there and Cory was half expecting Ira to want to move there. In fact, he realized while he was there that they had not even discussed were the would live. Cory wondered what Ira was thinking. Maybe she planned to stay in Eugene. Cory suspected he would rather move to Seattle than stay in Eugene, though he was fond enough of the city, but he would be willing to give Ira the final stay and follow her to the ends of the earth if necessary.

Ironically, when he brought this up to Ira, she said that she had been thinking it would be nice to move to Fremont. This took Cory somewhat by surprise, and he asked her why she wanted to move there. Ira had always wanted to move to San Francisco even thought she had only been there once as a teenager. She thought the city was beautiful and had a haunted romantic quality to it. However, she would prefer to move to Fremont and be closer to Cory’s family. She had only been there once before, when they stayed in one of the Fremont hotels to visit Cory’s family. Meanwhile, if they lived there, they could cross the Bay Bridge into San Francisco anytime they wanted. Cory loved this idea and quickly called his parents to let them know the news.
