A ride around Manhattan

without comments

One morning I joined a friend for a Circle Line tour around the Island of Manhattan, a much need day of relaxation away from work. The morning was clear and sunny and cool. The perfect new York fall morning. Crisp and clear is a rear event we are so lucky to have planned this trip on this day. Making my way to the pier the streets were full f the regular sights and sounds all of which seemed nicer when heading off for a day of doing something fun instead of going into the office. I actually could enjoy the flowers in front of the shops and enjoy the smell of the ripening fruits and vegetables along the side walks. Having the best restaurants, New York City always uses local fare with pride. The streets crowded wit folks busy with there business are no bother to me on a day when I can relax. Making my way to the pier we pay for our tickets and get on board the ship that will be taking us around the island of Manhattan. The boat pulls away from the pier into the river and heads south. On the right is New Jersey and the palisade cliffs to the left Manhattan with the towering skyscrapers and the cities congestion. Quietly on the water we sail around the tip of the island where we can see of fin the distance the statue of liberty and view all the ships coming and going from New York Harbor. Coming around the tip of Manhattan and heading back north up the east river we pass under the majestic Brooklyn Bridge , the Varasano and other great bridges connecting Manhattan island to Long Island and main land NY. Escaping the city for a day on the water is very relaxing and recharging for the emotional battery. Taking a day off work to do it makes it all the better!
